About the Center

The Center for the Study of Children's Futures (CSCF) in the Department of Child & Family Studies, Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute within the College of Behavioral & Community Sciences is a well respected source of reliable data and information for our state. The mission of the Center is to promote the health and well-being of Florida’s children and their families by centralizing current research, education, and community engagement activities. The Florida KIDS COUNT Project is the primary activity within the Center.

The Center is dedicated to maintaining a repository of statistical data as well as research, policy, and program activities occurring throughout Florida and the nation. Through the development and dissemination of informative and educational products, technical assistance, and consultation services, the Center provides the necessary data driven knowledge base for improving the lives of Florida’s children and their families.

The activities of the Center combine traditional research with the presentation and dissemination of data and information for a wide range of audiences. Technical assistance is provided on an ongoing basis. CSCF has helped to effect policy by providing materials to state agency decision makers, inform public debate and enhance the credibility of advocacy efforts.
